Dubai is a city full of expats of almost all the countries in the world, around 200 different nationalities and languages are filling up our city. Often you walk in the streets of deira, downtown or Dubai Marina and you listen dozens of different languages and faces from all over the world.
Personally i know people that live here since more then 10 years and they are still happy in this unique city. Often discussing with them comes out the question, “For How long to live in Dubai?”
The answer always to this question is quite clear and not obvious, many they answer that after Dubai there is only Dubai!
I know, this city is amazing and offers plenty of good business opportunities, money and high quality of life. For sure you cannot be bored here as there are hundreds of spots to go out and enjoy the weather and the nightlife.
The main problem is that you get a kind of “spoiled life” here, everything it’s easy and you have access to many things that in Europe for example you don’t have. Also the weather during the winter is amazing, you can spend every weekend in the beach and get tanned even on January while in Europe most of the people are freezing in very low temperatures.
The no tax city advantage is not to be understimated as well, if you have your own business this is the right place to be. In certain countries in Europe for example: Italy, Denmark or France the tax level has reached more then the 50% of your salary or business profit! In Dubai this is not possible and there is a very liberal economy with low bureaucracy and a clear government direction to push investments in construction and landmarks that push tourism and real estate market in a positive way always.
Another fact is the cosmopolitan environment here that make you have friends and colleagues from all over the world, that gives you a international personality and a large experience on how to deal with each different nationality in business, friendship and love.
If you grow up, stay and live all your life in your native country without having this unique experience i think you are gonna lose a lot of what’s happening around the world and you miss a cosmopolitan experience that opens your mind at a ultimate level.
It’s very interesting the inter racial communication between arabs, indians and europeans. Those three blocks are the 3 largest anthropological groups in our city and the interaction between them it’s very interesting as everybody here has an interesting story to tell you about each nationality that lives here. The risk of nationality generalization and stereotypes in this context it’s high but still i can say that all those different nationalities live in a very integrated way and you never see big problems or fights between different ethnic groups here.
All those reasons make us think that we still love Dubai and we will be here for long time!
