The United Nations have declared the June 21 as the International Yoga Day and the world is excited about it. But Dubai and the expats of the Dubai contributed to the day in a unique manner. The best one could have done. Ian Stanly, a Dubai Expat, made the World Record for longest Headstand.
If you are aware about Yoga and healthy exercises, then you will be aware about the Headstand. The head remains on the ground and the legs float up in the air. It is called Shirsasona. Ian, 41, stood at the position for 61 minutes making a new record. The authorities were present at the location and the details have been record. The authorities said that new record will find place in Guinness Book of World Records and the process is on due course.
Dubai people have started pushing for health and fitness practices recently. Yoga is a common form of fitness now and is famous throughout the world. UN has started the process to ensure better health conditions of the people. Dubai has responded well to the first ever International Yoga Day and a mass Yoga Camp has been organized on the evening. It is expected that almost 12000 people or more will be part of this campaign. The prime motive of this campaign will be to push healthy habits and Yoga in life. People have shown huge enthusiasms and excitement in all of the process of International Yoga Day.
The organizers have however generously said that it is not about a day out and attending a campaign in the name of International Yoga Day.
